Glasgow University Road Race
Tinto triumphed in the tussle of the titans last Saturday (as it seems the Hares & Hounds have no intention of moving their road race to a Sunday), and also appear to have produced more cogent results, although with fewer competitors. I finally traced the GUHHRR (the race, not the sound Drew makes running it!) results on the Scottish Athletics website, which throws up some strange issues: were there really so many unattached runners? were there really two Helen MacPhersons running (not to mention two G.Orrs and no Dave Calders? Did Gibson's son really outstrip all the Westies? will Mark McColl ever run a race where he can't make excuses about not winning?
On a fine November afternoon, here are some places /times:
97. Roderick Fleming 31.35
105. Gibson Fleming 31.49
106. Helen McCalder? 31.58
109. Hamilton Semple 32.07
183. Graeme Orr 35.56
241. Drew Turnbull 39.39
250. Helen MacPherson (the real one!) 40.38
