Ben Lomond
1985
Conditions: dry overcast and calm, perfect.
Campbell's still 1985 king of the mountains, yet another notch in Mr Campbells well notched notchee. Can anything stop this man apart from a couple of miles of tarmac?
A very fine training run indeed, but failed to see how this merits an entry in the logbook. After all Mr B Goodwin has confirmed that all Westerlands runners were disqualified because we have not paid our affiliation fee for 1985. Next time I see Pat O'Kane remind me to buy him a pint. The outcome is that my 100% record in fell races remains intact.
Mr Wellings after a missile attack on Wednesday was not able to keep on his feet and was rather surprised to reach the bottom at all. Now he will have to grow a new left foot and right calf. Brain still intact, i.e. still as intact as ever.
If there had been another three miles of road at the end DC would have caught AC.
Alisdair Campbell 82.35
David Calder 84.40
John Wellings 88.44
Ian Struthers 96.44
