Edinburgh Yooni 10 mile RR

1985

The hard core of Westerlands runners braved the course today. I left my brain on the Braid Hills road.

[so that's what I trod in, I thought it was a dog turd]

[it wasn't big enough for a dog turd, more like a snotter]

Almost as many spectators as participants. Dave Calder decided against competing, reserving his energy to outsprint Alisdair Campbell next week. Mr Campbells absence at this real test of road running has been noted and if he continues to run in such wimpish competitions as the Balloch to Clydebank then he will retain his position as laughing stock of the club (totally unbiased comment by guest correspondent A Tupper)

A Tuppers friend must agree with the comments on the clubs star hill racer Alisdair Campbell although it was also noted that Mr D Calder did not run this race the correct way. He was observed running in the reverse direction without his club colours this will not do!

Why were there no sausage rolls this year? No spot prizes either?

Good to get to top of Braids Hill and see Calder coming in opposite direction not so happy the second time round with nobody to curse

45 T Logue 56.50

53 A Cameron 57.18

67 T Donohue 58.23

J Wellings 62.43

Spectating D Calder (jogging) 50.10 (1 x reverse lap)

W Reid (driving)

W McColl (stationary)
