McANDREW ROAD RELAYS - Sat.2nd Oct.

A good wee Westies turnout of twelve runners meant that we had two guys and one girls team and Drew, who joined in for a blast round leg 1 of the relay. Fortunately the heavy morning showers had given way to a bright spell for the start at 3pm and although slightly breezy, made for good racing conditions around this tough little 5k circuit.

Great to see Jane and Matt make the journey through from the East and also Nathan and Keith (Swaz) make their debut races for the hallowed gold & black. The teams were cheered on by non running Dave, Muffy, Archie et moi and as soon as Hamilton finished we all scurried off, the showers starting again.

First points in Dave's Winter League for those below, come on the rest of you!

(To distinguish between our traditional Pat and Keith, I've put in our newer members nicknames - Hope they don't mind)

Huh - Still no sign of Nell...

I must have wasted at least 3 minutes looking for her along the course....

Excellent team selection, Cap'n Charlie. Must be the first time ever for the MacAndrew's?

Do I not get some points cos I am also a Westie and ran. "The league runs over the winter season, defined as 1st October 2004 to 31st March, 2005."

I should at least get "some" points in recognition to my contribution to the famous Westies Arran Relay Team this year!!!

Mark, according to the proposed rules, you only get points for those races where you run in the Gold vest with Black W. There are still plenty of opportunities for you!
