Road Handicap Race

A fine sunny evening for the annual Westies road handicap race at Croftamie saw ten runners taking part, four virgins amongst them. Perfect flour laying by Archie ensured that no one got lost on route and a right little tussle at the front of the field meant that the first three runners arrived within ten seconds. Drew won out to record his first win here and Sam managed to out sprint Ian, just nicking 2nd on the line. Further back, Fiona won First lady, being the only Westies wummin taking part; where were the rest of you! Excellent handicapping by the captain ensured that thrice winner and two years in a row was brought to an abrupt halt for JD but he had already given us his excuse beforehand, something about playing 5 aside football at lunchtime. Prizes all round with thanks to Isabel for perfect time keeping again and Donald and Anne for supporting.

Position, finish time and actual time as below

1st) Drew 63m55s (62.55)

2nd) Sam 64.04 (55.04)

3rd) Ian 64.05 (64.05)
