Whangie Whizz
A beautiful evening and a record entry of 121 runners marked 2004's Whangie Whizz. Conditions underfoot were a little damp, perhaps more so than recent runnings of the race, but this did not prevent some very good times and racing.
Alasdair Anthony ran away with the race to win in 27:40, followed by Ochils colleague Ian Wellock in 28:48. Ian Murphy of Clydesdale was third in 29:05, closely followed by Carnethy's Adam Ward as first male V40. James Shields of Clydesdale was first V50. The girls also had a good race won by Cara Sloss followed in by Carole McInnes of Springburn and Debbie HBT McDonald (also first FVet). First men's team was Ochils.
The junior's had a good trot out with Kevin Cornes (Kirky) and Cameron Reid (Westies) taking the boys honours, and Charlotte McShane (?) and Deborah Stokoe (Westies) taking the girls honours.
Big thanks to organisers Dave and Muffy, all the marshals and the MRT for assistance.
See you all next year. W

I understand that Ladies race winner Cara Sloss was down as unattached when in fact she is Kilbarchan AAC.She was only there 90 min before the start so perhaps too rushed to fill the entry form properly!!!
