Summer League Update

A big field at Clachnaben,one of my least favourite races, saw a few cracking performances and a bit of juggling in the league positions.

Nige made an impressive return with a fine 12th place, leading home a quality pack including Des Crowe,Graeme Bartlett,Dave Cummins,Alan Smith and Dermot McGonigle - and only a few seconds behind Ronnie who is now starting to open an ominous lead with a near perfect score card.

An unfortunate combination of abscences due to "rellies","hollies" and "boggies" meant the mens team were unable to capitalise on team points.

Donald ,Don and Steffan all continue there consistant performances and are all jostling for position near the top as a result,but with the holiday season round the corner who's going to crack first?

Trevor Richens put in a really good debut in the league and I suspect Don will be keen to make amends in the next race!

The Wummin' never fail to impress and Elsie and Ana continue their tussle at the top with Ana bagging the extra point by only a narrow margin to emulate the leading mans near perfect points tally.

Pat earned 16 points even though she was "sweeping" and stays in contention if the others slip up.

However they also failed to make the most of the team position in the abscence of the Carnethy burds it was Cosmics who nabbed the top spot.

Anyway well done to all who managed to make it,and I hope for a good day out doon the watter for Goatfell on 15th May.

It's a road runners dream really, so no feeble excuses now!
