Dunbartonshire Cross Country Championships

1983

Firstly some passing comments on the previous pages [of the log book] which I have just read for the first time. T Logue you don't know me but I know you (from Glasgow Herald report on E to G). Generally I think the standard of legibility of the comments needs to be improved. Hereafter I will lead by example - Dave Calder.

On with the race (i'm fed up writing nice already). Main highlights of this race before the start, comment will have to be made on the new clothing worm by members, rumour has it that Mary Quant is joining the club. New equipment and clothing includes:

1. New spikes (£24.95) - A Lockhart.

2. New training shoes (£24.95/£8 off - a bargain from Runsport) - C McAdam.

3. New spikes (£27) - DC. New rain suit (£36) - DC.

4. New race number - T Donohue.

Two new members also running today, Bill Kelly, who would have had new spikes as well but C McAdam advised against it - fool. The return of Patrick Droopy O'Kane also came today.

Runners finishing postions as follows.

1 W Sheridan 30.42

21 A Lockhart 33.52

26 T Logue 34.35

35 P O'Kane 35.18

38 D Calder 35.21

42 T Donohue 35.39

46 A Campbell 36.16
