The Devil's Burdens 2004
A Devilishly Wonderful Win for Westies Women
On Saturday thirty Westies runners braved the snowy blizzards to do battle with the Devil in Fife, known as the Burdens. The inclement conditions made for a day of incident, the cold weather playing havoc with our men's dibbers, so much so that some fell off and disappeared altogether. The women, not having this problem, ran straight and true through the mire, to claim the pot of gold at the end of the non existent rainbow.
Thanks to all who took part including our four DB virgins who were well and truly deflowered by the teeth of an icy gale and to Crispin who won the Westies 'Most Dedicated' prize, travelling from Wales just to enjoy a dibberless third Leg run.
See you all next year.
Westeez.
P.S. Logic: Scottish Ladies team are World Champions last September. Carnethy ladies are the Scottish team. Westies Ladies beat Carnethy Ladies. Westies Ladies must now be world champions -- Ah, fifteen minutes of fame !!
