Allan Scally Relays
1988
Once again the troops disappear without marking up the log book. Captain Thom is in charge again as the results show conclusively: A Brown indulges in a piece of kidology in order to run the glory leg for the B team. Still he was cuffed by three members of the first team thereby dampening his bloated ego. In the second team the highlight was A Camerons sprint finish with a pensioner with the former just winning having clocked 46.23 for the last 100! The third team had a mixed performance: Ian Struthers completed the third stage after 2 teams had completed the race, however a strong performance by John Tolmie ensured that the team finished before lighting up time ... just!
Footnote apparently Messrs Thom & Eddeb competed in the Falkirk mini marathon or some such inconsequential event six days prior to today and finished 13th and 5th respectively. This merely proves the inadequate level of competition in this event. The performances will only improve when they start running in real races.
