Strathcarron 10k
Ran a 10k road race in and around Denny this morning. It was extremely cold and windy.
The course has a fast 3k and then was followed by a number of tough climbs and sharp bends including one at an acute angle of 19 degrees on the right which almost caused severe injury. The last 40m has one of those Pedestrian gate things which you need to double back on at 4 min mile pace which was great fun. I stayed in a pack of runners and finished 5th place overall in a time of 34min and 12 seconds.
First woman was Angela Mudge who I have never heard of in road races but she ran excellent with us until 6k and then pulled up for some reason but wasn't all that far behind us. The last 3k were utter hell with a long drag for 1 mile. So I have managed to get some form just time for the cross countrys but boy have I left it late.
One of the physio girls offered me a massage and I kindly obliged.
