Alloa Half Marathon
Geography was my best subject in fact Graeme, I got a 1 in my standards and A at higher level. My next race is in Law (Is that Lanark or New Lanark???)
However I must have fallen asleep during the race today after getting 78.59 at Alloa today.
My virus was still evident and although it was a last minute decision to run, the atmosphere was well worth it. If I was fully fit I would have remained in the top 10 easily. I knew I was not 100% after my test run on Sat night which I found tough.
There is no place to hide in a half marathon and if you are injured or are weak from any sort of bug, it will show.
I met Kate Jenkins also today who exclaimed some dissapointment whilst slumped in a heap firstly at the finish and later still at the car. Think about me then Kate!!! I wrote down my estimated time on the sheet at 75min!!!
I then spent the next half an hour to everyone explaining "what had happened to me". So it wasn't quite a Dave Calder experience but I pulled out the race at Alva (is that in Clackmannanshire Graeme?) but decided to finish.
