Westies sent down a fleet of top athletes On Saturday in an attempt to steal the team prize from Shettleston and Carnethy. However unknown to us these teams also sent down their best runners too.

The gun went and Nigel quickly established himself as one of the favourites keeping in touch with the leaders. Chris put in a few bursts to keep ahead too but found the power of Nigel just a little too much to handle. Maybe next race??

I felt my back aching to the point where I asked myself "Will I be running still in two weeks time", and stopped in agony.

Ronnie paced himself ideally and made his way up the field overtaking us to the top and going for a top 10 spot.
