London Marathon
Just to let you know I managed to potter round London Marathon yesterday in 3:13:25. Was hoping to do nearer 3 hours.
Sore hamstring and the heat are my main excuses - it got uncomfortably warm later on. Plus the fact I'm no good at long road runs.
Was just on target at the halfway point with 1:29:17. But got slower and slower in the second half. Can't explain why. Partly lack of effort, and partly lack of experience.
SPLITS:
10km Half Finish
Crispin 41:19 1:26:40 2:52:49
Lindsay 40:05 1:25:21 3:01:23
Chris 40:50 1:29:17 3:13:25
Mark 40:05 1:28:19 3:20:24
Lindsay and Mark (Garscube) whizzed past me early on, but they both blew up near the end. Crispin ran a very steady race with each half in 1:26. Chatted to him briefly at around 6 miles, but didn't attempt to stay with him.
A fantastic experience all the same!
