What a lovely night for the Cort-ma Law race! Everything went successfully thanks to the concerted efforts of all who helped out; so, a big thank you to everyone.

Lynne and Margaret dealt with timekeeping and entries in a very professional manner; particularly handy was Margaret's excellent eyesight, sometimes shouting out a runner's number as they appeared over the brow of the hill!

The marshals, Lillian (with sore / tired legs - extra thanks), Gillian, Muffy, Charlie and Dave, were all invaluable. Pat swept the course clean. Donald was at hand to provide support for timekeeping if a big crowd of runners all came over the line simultaneously; luckily that never happened. Big Al provided good moral support and some handy hints for future organisation (critical ol' git!). Victoria (Reid) was very useful in shouting out runners names as they crossed the line, which meant we got the results filled out quickly.

The Trossachs Search and Rescue Team came out in force and fortunately were never really bothered. But I have to say their presence was reassuring; on a night of bad weather / poor visability there may have been some incidents where their services could have been called for. So a big thanks to them for their support.

The race provided some excellent results in the shape of the winning time by Jethro Lennox, only narrowly missing John Stevenson's 1999 record by a few seconds; and this was with an additional checkpoint to cover after the Leckett! And great team work from Shettleston who won the team prize with their 1st, 2nd and 4th positions (7 points), leaving Westies as second team (24 points).

Murdo was the first M50, well done!

Marc McColl completed his first hill race I believe, but was a few seconds behind Gibson, his adversary from the previous Winter League.

All in all, a good night.
