Green Bell Fell Race
Crispin,
Well done at your Goodrich Fell race. I wasn't at Symonds Yat, but I did get beaten by a pair of Symonds (see http://www.kendalac.co.uk/index.htm).
On Saturday I did Green Bell Fell race at Newbiggin-on-Lune on the north side of the Howgills. 8 miles / 2000ft. Far too runnable for my liking. Tarmac, farm tracks and grassy open fell. Big gaps opened up by the final descent where I was almost caught by Chris Speight. I just managed to fend him off on the final track and road section. Not sure of times or places. Was too busy taking advantage of the fine display of tea and cakes in the village hall.
Andrew Symonds won the race, and pipped younger brother Joe by 20 seconds. I pottered round in 65 minutes and was about 7th or 8th I guess.
