North Berwick Law Race

6th August

3 miles / 600ft

While the west basked in sweltering unbroken sunshine, a strange eastern haar hug over North Berwick - the Law towering off into the mist. Down by the harbour a hunner un odd runners amassed for the sprint down the main street, through the park, up the road, up the hill and back.

All over in a bit of a blur.

Plenty of brown vests to chase and hopelessly fail to keep up with. Mark and Martin both overtook me on the run back along the road, and beat me by a few seconds.

Don Naylor had a comfortable win in just over 18 minutes.

1. Don Naylor (HBT) 18:05 (?)

2. Phil Mowbray (HBT)

12. Mark James (Carnethy)

13. Martin Hulme (Corstorphine)

14. Chris Upson (Westies) 21:36

??. Kate Jenkins (Carnethy) 23:25 1st Lady

An excellent little race.

Well worth the 2-hour meltdown in the car to get there.
