Duddon

Nice write up Ronnie.

I was having my own run in the sun down at Duddon. A Lakes Classic. 20mls/6000ft.

One of those races with an unbeatable (and unbelievable) 20-yr old Billy Bland record. A real scorcher, and a great day to be out on the fells. Water wasn't too much of a problem, with good streams before halfway, and plenty of marshalls. A few big climbs in the first half, then good running over the Coniston hills for the 2nd half, where I made up 5 places. Came 14th in the end in 3:43, getting pipped by Derek Ratcliffe on the final run out. Andrew Schofield won in 3:15-ish. Joss Naylor and Billy Bland doing the prizes.
