In the absence of Dave here is the Westies report for tonight's race. Ronnie continued his comeback from retirement with 4th place. The rest of us could not quite manage to get so far up the field , but we did manage some good packing in the middle of the results. Only Blair failed to make it a nice foursome behind myself Don and Murdo , who all enjoyed a close tussle during most of the race. I'm sure Don would have been a lot nearer to me if only I had had my lycra shorts on! Christine had a close win from Debbie MacDonald of HBT and also took the Veteran's prize.

The race was changed quite a bit this year and involved a fair amount of forest track running but with a good steep climb in the middle and followed the old race route for the final descent. The midges were nowhere near as bad as usual. The usual excellent array of prizes was presented in the Ben Sheann Hotel, with alcohol featuring strongly. 40 runners finished. A good wee race despite not getting to the top of the hill. See you all at Cort ma Law.
