Strathaven Striders Run with the Wind 10k
6th November 2011
Provisional results | Route on Garmin Connect
Finished in 38.21, but I was aided by an overall drop from start to finish, a slight tailwind, riding a rocket-powered Harley Davidson, being dressed as spiderman, and the clocks going back during the race. Some of the foregoing might even be true.
The race was sponsored by The Baldy Carpenter. When John Quinn said "chippy", I didn't realise he was referring to his skill with chisels and saws.
1. Richard Meade (Edinburgh AC) 33:51
20. Jillian Gordon (Kinross RR) 37:57 - 1st female
21. Johnston Orr (Westerlands CCC) 38:21
332 finished.

Your conservative training regime is obviously paying off big time.
I can only dream of a sub 40 10k never mind a 38.21.
Any advice to achieve this would be welcome as long as it's not 'nae mair chips'
