Maddy Moss Mash
Another smashing evening for a run on this great route.
Started easy on the steep climb and let the mob charge off. Wasn't long before I started pegging them back further up. I know I was in with a shout of a top ten place although the pace was getting tougher nearer the front. I was pleased to pass John Donnelly who had looked strong early on and then Jamie Thin who I suspect was only out to stretch his legs. Still I kept the long slow drop into the Glen at a steady pace and watched over my shoulder.
I thought I was in the clear going into the last steep decent to the Glen and eased off accordingly to avoid any unnecessary injury, however a thundering charge from behind had me scrambling for the line in a hair raising sprint downhill. I just held him off and bagged my place.
