7 Hills of Edinburgh
I ventured over to the east for the 7 Hills race. It's an odd race that attracts hill runners and road runners alike. The format is like any hill race - visit the 7 designated tops in the specified order - but most of the running is through the streets. There are plenty of sneaky short-cuts the locals know and given I work and do all my training in Edinburgh I think I've got most of them sussed.
After Glen Rosa yesterday I was expecting it to be really tough but ended up having a fantastic run knocking 2 minutes of my pb for the route. Not sure how that happened but it bodes well for next weekend - haven't decided what to do on Saturday (Arrochar or the championship race in Melrose - any thoughts?) but it will be followed by the Lairig Gru on Sunday.
I wasn't the only Glen Rosa runner out - Al (Ochils) having won yesterday was out, as was the ladies winner Eilidh (HBT), Konrad (Carnethy) and Michael (Portobello). Great effort guys!
The road runners won it this year (Ross Houston of Central AC), but Al Anthony was a close second making sure the hill runners were well represented.
Brian was the only other Westie out so no team - didn't catch him afterwards so hope he enjoyed the route.

Well done Cameron. I'm impressed you could run after Glen Rosa. Btw, did you notice that Ross Houston was 3 seconds off the course record!

Cameron - that's quite an effort, running it the day after Glen Rosa. Still, it must have been worth it to stop Brennan getting lone Westie bonus points in the Summer League.
