Clydebank 10k

Results

There was a good turnout of 1 Westie at last night's Clydebank 10k, the 2nd race in the Polaroid Series.

I went on a super-long warm up before the race with Allan Adams, and then Mike Deason, that was almost longer than the race, so I was feeling pretty jaded before we even started. I got off to a reasonable start, and must have been sitting around 10th as we went through the tunnel into the business park.

There was quite a strong westerly headwind, so I tried shelter behind the Bella pair of Chris Black and Kieran Docherty, as they dragged me past Paul Thompson at about 2km. I then battled away trying to stay with Paul, passing him a few times, but eventually getting dropped again. Just after halfway I was caught by Nick Reid of Bella, and then just after 8km another 2 Bella runners went past - Liam Conway and Craig Ross. I tried to rally during the final mile as we turned back into the business park, but couldn't make any ground on the runners in front, so finished 16th in 35:24, which was 4 seconds slower than last week at Helensburgh.
