Scottish 4k CC Champs Bellahouston

2 Westies turned out for the Scottish 4k CC Championship race at Bellahouston. yesterday and the conditions were a bit cold but dry with no significant wind. I met Cap'n Chris prior to the race and he reliably informed me that the field predominantly consisted of elite runners. Pressure or what. Would this be the race where I obtained my first last place. Following a fast run in Saturdays park run Chris put in a great performance (13:49) narrowly edging an old adversary Jeff Farquhar of Pitreavie by 1 second. I set of in third last position and clawed in a few places on the way clocking a 16:13. Elspeth Curran won the ladies race impressively.

Well done John, you are the only other Westie every to brave the trip to Bellahouston Park for the 4k Cross Country.

My blow by blow account of the race is posted here

Quite pleased to get 2nd V40, although this was helped by the race clashing with the Scottish Vets Road Relay at Strathclyde Loch.
