Saturday social on the Ochil Hills

15th January 2011

6 Westies, a friendly Fifer, and a loose Stirling Tri member pitched up at Tillicoultry for a wee circuit of the Maddy Moss route in reverse, plus a bonus jog over Kings Seat on the way up. John Denovan was route-setter and chief-in-charge for the day. Very wet conditions gave way to a free skin exfoliation treatment from hail on the higher tops. Snow was in retreat, pace was leisurely, and a grand day was had by all. Thanks to JD, JD2, Cat, Paula, Graham, Moira and Andre for the company.

"social" ?? - more like a survival test in the wind and rain, but still strangely enjoyable. Photos added now.
We managed just under 8 miles and just under 3,000 feet -

Aye - a grand day out indeed.

I woke half expecting a text from Paula and/or John to state the obvious ...the weather was not the best but shared transport tends to equate to more comittment.

Despite the conditions, morale stayed high throughtout !

Cheers for the organising and company folks.
