Crieff 10k, 2010

Ye canny whack it. Tough wee trail race, last round of Scottish Open, out for dinner, final of the World Cup with 90 yr. old Dad and we're both still standing - just about.

Yes, a tough little blighter of a race, or was it just me? A belter really. Off from the playing fields (Morrison's Academy) on the road, up Laggan Hill, down and round and back along the riverside. Excellent little course that had been "strimmed", or otherwise cut back and beaten into submission, in this season of growth.

Very well supported, and organised race by Strathearn Harriers, 4 Pipers on the course, music before and after, a fine spread of eats after, plus a lukewarm shower before the full day of sport - what more do want Pal?

First - Neil Calder Edin. AC 35.31

18) First Lady - Edel Mooney Lothian AC 40.41

48) Hamilton Semple 45.25

249 ran.

Sounds like a nice trail race, Hamilton. Pity about the lukewarm water; I'm all for a return to decent, cold showers. Whatever happened to the old bathtub and plastic hose...it was good enough back in the 70's?

Perfect wee training session for the Clyde Stride 40, I reckon? Are you up for it next year, Hamilton? I'm sure you could get under 6 hours?
