Chatelherault Handicap
26th May 2010
Well done to the 18 runners who braved the cool but sunny evening at Chatelherault.
First home in a blisteringly fast time of 39:55 was Adam Gatens.
Unfortunately Adam failed to follow the exact course, which explained why he never passed me and Ken.
We reckon that Adam must have taken the low route to White Bridge, which misses out a bunch of climbing, so must be slightly faster although much the same distance. So when Ken and I arrived at White Bridge, Adam was already ahead.
Susie was fastest lady of the night in 49:47.
Many thanks to Elma for her expert time keeping, and for patiently hanging around for an hour waiting for the runners to return.

Bad day at the office for me. First Tom took us out to quick, he blew up and i got ahead of him, then i blew up and he got back in front, then my dodgy tummy that had been playing up all day really got going By the time we had climbed up from the white bridge for the second time and i was planning where i was going to get Tom back, i had a Paula Radcliffe moment and had to head for the bushes. In the interest of public decency i will leave out the details but i now know how chatelherault got its name.
It was good to see a big turnout and the East kilbriderlands branch of westies continues to grow.
