once again a great turnout of double-yooz at the ADVERTISIGN DIRECT kaim hill race... i really buy into the notion of mid-table domination: it makes me want to get back on the circuit and prove myself to those runners prepared to scroll down the results table.
Missed the prize-giving as i had to sneak back to make an appearance my old mums 60th birthday party... probably best as it was in my house!
and yes she did have me late...

    ... late teens.

A fantastic evening to be out running - Don had commented that it was a race that was easy to blow up on, and he was right... I thought I was going to lose a lung on the top section of the hill. Managed to sneak past Chris on the descent, only for to see him blast past again just before rejoining the track! Cheers to all involved in organising and sponsoring the event and congrats to all Westeeez who ran (especially the newer wans ... Paula, Rhona and Alan)

Great night out! Good to see Chris back - and have a race against Graham - good luck in your highland fling at the weekend mate.
My run was a bit naff - tweaked my ankle warming up on the trod up the side of the glen which seems rougher than i remember, and consequently descended during the race like a big girls blouse - but then thats hill running!!
Interesting to see Toni McIntosh turn out 2 weeks in a row at a hill race - hope she sticks at it - it will be interesting to see how she progresses at it - had quite a battle with her on the way up but managed to gap her about half way up the hill. She needs to work on her descending, but then don't we all!
Well done all who ran, especially newby Rhona.

Had a great evening. Fab view and fun company. Did not too bad getting up the hill but sadly overtaken by lots coming down! I am that big girls blouse that Don mentioned!! Johnston has already given me the tip of running down like a pantomime horse but that only gave people a good laugh last night!! I will keep working on it. Any advice greatly received!
Practise will only make better i hope. Ps that was my first hill race so thoroughly enjoyed...see everyone at the next?

Yes, mid-table domination in mid-week races; that's us and it fits with being the best small-to-medium sized running club in the west end of Glasgow, does it not???

Great to see a good Westies turnout at a fab wee race. Great also to see a fine performance by Pauline, wreaking revenge on Helen after the latter's excellent run at the Nationals. Watch out Brian B, she's got your large bottom firmly in her sights...poor Pauline!

Congratulations everyone, especially the Westies ladies. I also believe it was a clean sweep of F50 top 3 places with Pauline leading out again.

What a lovely evening for a run, despite sounding like an old hoover at the end!

Heather's a bugger to run through!!

Great to meet lots of you and will see many of you again, no doubt, at next week's Whangie.

Dave, I don't think that I was ever close enough to have any part of Brian in my sights given that my contact lenses tend to make everything in the middle to far distance appear blurry. As for revenge for the Nationals, never even crossed my mind. I must confess that I don't run a race to beat people. Most of the time I'm pushing myself to see what I can do and trying hard not to fall over and injure myself. Then afterwards, there's the satisfaction of yet another PB thanks mainly to Nigel and all those reps sessions. Anything else, Dave, is spin.

Spin? I don't know what you could possibly mean! But thanks Pauline for the words of wisdom. I must use that one when the Reidster next takes my scalp...."Well done Don, but remember I don't race to beat you, or anyone else".
