Galashiels 200km Audax

18th April 2010

JD and I had a bit of an epic cycle ride yesterday from Galashiels. 200km or 124 miles of hilly roads via Traquhair, St Mary's Loch, Megget/Talla Reservoirs, Tweedmuir, Devil's Beeftub, Moffat, St Mary's Loch again, Hawick, Newton St Boswell, Melrose and finally back to Galashiels after 10.5 hours, and 8.5 hours of cycling. Pretty vile unpleasant weather for much of the middle part, getting pelted with rain and hail, but thankfully improved for the final section.

Good effort guys, makes my 4.5 hr 54 mile circuit of Arran seem pretty puny.

Just once round Arran? That's quite a short ride.

Don - you could have come with me and JD, but I don't think you would have been able to keep up.
