Dunbartonshire Cross Country Relays
17th October 2009
Our local cross country relays at Garscube saw a massive turnout of 4 teams, albeit with Hamilton and myself both running twice, combined with roping in German international celebrity runner Elke Schmidt who'd only turned up on her bike for a blether and didn't have any running kit with her, but that didn't stop her from running the fastest ladies time of the day by almost 2 minutes and causing a headache for the race organisers as to her first claim credentials.
That said everything else went swimmingly not least for Ken Macmahon who christened his golden vest with a swallow dive into the mud, shortly to be followed by Gibson would couldn't resist a wallow in the mire after failing to clear the imposing 4 inch hurdle into the finishing straight.
