Croy not a favoured holiday destination

Bar Hill and Croy Hill club run - 22nd July 2009

Surprisingly few Westies seemed to have opted to take their summer holidays in the historic industrial village of Croy, as only 4 turned out for the club run. The low attendance may also have been caused by Jim Hall's offensive shorts. Only Cat, Stuart, and I were there to suffer the full horror.

How was the turnout at Turnhouse?

Well I did offer to take them off!

I was looking forward to meeting my old mates in this small to medium sized running club, only to find it'd turned into a medium to small running club.

A fine evening for a very enjoyable run in the country. Pity I was too old and fat to keep up with you guys.

See you all at Creagh Dhu?

Yes, Croy has alway struck me as particularly grim little town in a Lord of the Flies, Midwich Cuckoos sort of way.

Turnhouse was fun despite the comedy black raincloud directly overhead before the start, providing torrential rain when everywhere else was sunny.

A few Westies turned up - me, Owen, Andy Mott, Ellie, Dave Rogers (in yellow vest!), and new recruit John Denovan.

Chris! How could you say that about Croy? I tried so hard not to refer to it as a dump. Oops, done it now...

Well, hell mend you all for not starting and finishing from the famous beach and fabulous real ale pub "The Billy" aka The Quarry ...or is it the Twecher Inn now?? Anyway this far superior industrial bin is the much prefered starting point...and probably safer for your cars. Jim Hall in offensive shorts AND running - it used to just be one or the other.
