New Westies website

Welcome to the new Westies website! It's been a long time coming, but it's here at last. I hope you like it.

While the look of the site has been updated, the big changes are "behind the scenes", and will allow your Committee to alter and edit the site more freely in future.

Most aspects of the site should be familiar to you. For club members, the process for posting race reports remains similar, but you will need to register first and be approved as a user before you can post new reports (first time only). Check your email for further details.

Random and deranged comments can still be posted in the same manner as before, without logging in.

If you find any bugs or have any problems, please let me know by email (for those within the club), or use the Contact form.

Have fun!

    Thanks John.

I see from the new list of authors on the right that you lead the table of the most prolific report writers!

As you'll notice, you can now email a link to news items to a friend, share it on Facebook, StumbleUpon it, Digg it, and any number of other weird and wonderful modern things that I know very little about!

Also, did you know that the site contains race reports going back to 1983, when men were men, times were fast, and women probably weren't allowed to join Westerlands? Just do a search for 1983 in the new Search box in the top-right (some good stuff in 1984 too). I guess these must have been typed in from the originals which had been chiselled into tablets of stone. Imagine running a 29-min 10k now and not even winning!

Did you know that your "Contacts" page is broken. The antispam box won't let you enter all the letters of "running shoes" so you can never send a message.

Just wanted to congratulate you on another brilliant Ben Lomond Hill race. I really felt for the marshals and mountain rescue guys out there today!
