Greenmantle Dash 2009
2nd January 2009
Fine calm conditions with very little water at the burn crossing and more or less frozen bog to get to the road meant for fast running times. The first 3 men all broke the previous course record, as did the first 2 ladies. I managed a PB by 30 seconds to clock 18:03 for first V40. It was my 8th Greenmantle Dash on the trot, and never before have I seen so few Westies on the startline.

Well done Chris, good run. I injured myself at Greenmantle last year so I chose to do a 6-hour walk just down the road on the Manor Hills instead, so that I could do the Nigel Barge the following day instead.
You've had a successful period of pot-hunting, with the Greenmantle prize plus 3rd vet at The Law Breaker.

Thanks Johnston. I could also have picked up 3rd Vet at Nigel Barge if I'd bothered to have run a minute and a half faster. I hope you have a more injury/illness-free year than 2009.
