2 Westies were amongst the 25 runners this week, treading carefully on the icy course as they warmed up for the famous Westies Christmas Handicap in the afternoon. Both had ballast, not in the form of excess mince pies consumed, but of full hydration packs (which froze up anyway).
Although interrupted by the fire alarm, the post-run social chat over coffee in the Burrell cafe was very enjoyable, lending a friendly atmosphere to the whole event.
