kilpatricks by moonlight

For a change the "moonlight run" lived up to its name, with the privileged few enjoying a superb trot round the "old" Old Kilpatricks hill race route. The sky was clear, the moon was (almost) full and the ground was frosty. Not a glimpse of a headtorch was needed, even by yours truly, as we enjoyed amazing visibility away from the bright lights of Glasgow up on the moors. A truly special evening.

We're running in the air,we're floating in the moonlit sky;the people far beloware watching east enders as we fly.

I'm holding my head light,I'm slipping in the midnight blue,I'm finding I can flyso high above with you.

On across the Kilpatricksthe Duncolms go by like dreamsThe rivers and the hills, the forests and the streams.

Sheep graze open mouthed, taken by surprise;Nobody down below believes their eyes.

We're running in the air,we're swimming in the frozen sky,we're slipping over icemountains floating by.

Suddenly swooping low a grouse disturbed from sleep, scaring the living daylights out of the westies and a sheep.

We're running in the air,we're crunching on the frozen grass.and everyone who sees usthinks we will fall on our ass.
