Skye Bridge 10K

This was to be the last race for me before my long rest for September.

The conditions were drizzly with high winds which were felt during the drive up to Kyle of Lochalsh.

This year there were around 90 runners which broke last years record and taking of records well, wait for it.

Alan planned to do the race but just missed the start due to sleeping in due to noisy party goers, something I experienced in Ossian's Hotel the previous night.

I led for the first 2 miles before my club mate Stuart Gibson of Shettleston took over and stretched out a 50 second lead on the other side before pulling away on the return leg. Her had previously ran 31 min 2 weeks ago and is going well in training.

People had to either crawl or sit on the roadside due to the high winds on the Bridge's highest point so as you can imagine the going was rather tough.

1: Stuart Gibson(Shettleston) 33.14 course record

2:Mark McColl(Westerlands) 36.48

3:Joe Burns 38.30

P.S. It reminded me of the Troon 10k excpet it was "miles harder".
