This may seem over pedantic but there were in fact 12 Westies taking part but only 10 finishers. My race ended early when I pulled a calf muscle somewhere near the YH path junction. I had just come out of the first aid tent back at the finish when Dave Rogers came up behind me - he had aggravated an achilles problem near the Red Burn. The anaesthetic in the Grog and Gruel later worked quite well so I should be fit for Tinto although Dave's injury sounds a bit more long term.

Ah, OK... I didn't see Graham or Dave on the start line. That's too bad you both had to pull out. I hope your respective injuries clear up soon.
