Croftamie Handicap

Just for the record, here are the results for last week's Croftamie Handicap. 15 runners managed to complete the course. Muffy practising her wayward navigation for the extravanganza was rescued by car heading off towards Balloch. David 'the snake' Riach lived up to his name by recording the fastest time of the evening.

And better late than never, here are the results from the Narnain Boulder Dash. Donald Evans set a new men's record for the course, and Val Houston became the first woman to get under 40 minutes.

But who actually won the handicaps? I thought the point was there was potentially different winners? I think you are doing Drew out of a few good bribes??

Mmmm.... I think Rob finished first at the Narnain Handicap - I'm not sure how he ended up with such a favourable handicap!

I finished first at Croftamie having started 2nd last, spurred on over the last mile or two by the thought that David Riach hadn't passed yet, and that I hadn't caught Muffy. However I never did catch Muffy, since she was on a different route altogether. But it certainly helped imagining she was still out in front!

I seem to remember there has been a discussion about this before? But would it be possible to put the finishing order up. Next time Muffy will know the way and beat you...and then I think she deserves the limelight! Well done though - you always make me feel terrible for not trying hard enough when you come flying by!

I'm sure it's not often I pass you in a handicap. I didn't get anywhere near you at Narnain. Perhaps I'll dream up a new route for next year's In the Dark Handicap. I think running down that road in the dark to Lennoxtown, it's just a matter of time before someone gets wiped out. There must be some safer fully off road options, or at least roads with pavements.
