Kirkintilloch 10k
OK, not a hill run, and as far as I could make out I was the only hill runner there, but perhaps still worth mentioning due to the blustery, munro type conditions. From Kirkie, along the canal to cawder, up the road to Torrance roundabout and then back along the canal. Haven't done a 10k in about 4 years and forgot how much running at full pelt on the flat makes you want to vomit after about 500 metres. From a field of 207, I managed to stroll in 16th in the time of 37"51", absolutely obliterating my previous PB by 3 full seconds. Grabbed a donut and a capri-sun (they bloody charged you for them as well! Fecking Road Runners!) and then ran back to the west end along the canal, just reaching Maryhill as the sunset.
Was kind of expecting to do better, and Upson told me this morning that my performance was pants, but I was still kind of happy with it.

Just as well you sneaked back out via the canal bank or we would have charged you for leaving too - it's the Kirky way you know!
