Cuillin Ridge
Alright, this isn't a race, but it adds to an already energetic weekend for the Westies. But a last minute change of plan left me with a free day and saw me driving up to Glenbrittle for an early start to run the Cuillin ridge.
All very straightforward - start at Gars-bheinn, end at Gillean visiting all 11 munros and the Sgurr Thearlaich and Bidean tops, climbing the 4 rock climbs en route (TD gap, Kings Chinmey on Mhic-Coinnich, Inn Pinn, and the Bhasteir tooth via Naismiths route), no ropes, no abseils, carrying all food and water.
Left the summit of Gars-bheinn at 8:40am. Weather spot on - sunny with high cloud, light breeze, cool temps but still sweating buckets. Walked all uphill bits, moved as fast as was safe on the climbing bits and ran the scree runs.
Luckily no-one at the TD gap so climbed that quickly without having to queue. Climbed up the easy way on the Inn Pinn and downclimbed the abseil side 2hrs after leaving the start. A few route finding balls-ups after this saw me lose time and, more crucially, energy. Summit of Gillean at 1:48pm, 5hrs 8mins later but with definite room for improvement. I'm never going to trouble the record, but still a PB for me by well over an hour.

I see- that must be the benefit to having such bulging muscles- multi-activity-fast-bouncing-stuff! Well done Tigger.

Top stuff Simon, there can't be many folk out there with the skills to do what you did, never mind to do it so quickly. Much respect.
And you're right, Westies do seem to be hyperactive this year!

How amazing! I'm sure Rob's not in the least bit worried about doing the LAMM with you...maybe a few rocks in rucksack to settle that bounce! Well done.

Awesome! That'll be all the shared kit in your sack at the LAMM then.
Sounds like a magic day. Echoing Johnston's thoughts, it would be interesting to know how many people have ever done it quicker. My guess is very few.

Wow. I suspect that you didn't have time to appreciate any views - if you did, then why were you hanging about?
Well done
