National Masters Cross Country
9th February 2008, Irvine
Almost spring-like conditions at Irvine for the National Masters Cross Country. Pauline was the only Westies taker for the women's race, which was won easily by Lyn Wilson. The men's race had a closer finish with Bobby Quinn of Kilbarchan beating David Millar of Irvine by 8 seconds. Three Westies took part - myself, Don and GrimOrr - with Drew shouting on encouragement from the sidelines.
Results summary:
1. Bobby Quinn, 32:24
19. Chris Upson, 35:34
91. Don Reid, 39:31
180. Graeme Orr, 49:07
198 runners

Cheers Don. I got a stitch on Lap 2 and could hardly breathe for half a lap, so lost touch with Graham Beal and Charlie Thomson who I'd been trying to stay with. Managed to get my act back together, more or less, for the final lap so didn't drop any more more places after Charlie Thomson and Ian Johnston had passed, but felt like I was going backwards rapidly for half a lap.
