Christmas Handicap 2007
Andy Plumbs the Depps to Lift Treasure!
Andy & Jenny Edwards made it a family double act at the Club Xmas Handiicap at Carbeth yesterday, recording the fastest men's and women's times. Andy obviously fancied himself dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow aka Johnny Depp. In this respect he was undoubtedly encouraged by Jenny, who, explaining why she didn't rush to catch her hubby in a sprint finish, explained that she liked the look of his arse! Mmmm, well it's certainly better than his face! Returning the compliment Andy commented that, with a little imagination , and a pair of stilts, he could easily compare Jenny to Keira Knightly!
Elsewhere there were some superb costumes; the winner was easily Pauline dressed as a Cyborg. Muffy was unconvincing as an angel, Pat was a cat and Cat just about pulled it off as a schoolie. Johnston was a Rocker, complete with his axe while Isabel ran convincingly as an 80's athlete.
Guest Andy Mott, a pal of Johnston's awaiting a Westies application form, won the handicap, beating the suspiciously well-handicapped Dave by 9 seconds. Steffen was third followed closely by Isabel, competing in her first handicap for 20 years.

Great fun, and a good wee course with a bit of everything - road, trail, and mud! It turned out to be a good warm-up for the Cambuslang 10k for me.
I've put some photos here, and have uploaded a subset to go with this report.
