Tour of Pendle
17 miles, 4800ft
Barley, Lancashire
Only 3 "Scottish" runners ventured south of the border for this end-of-season race too far. The Sassenachs in question were me, Ellie and John Telfer of Keswick/Haddington.
John had a pretty reasonable run to clock 3:22, Ellie had a stormer to get 2:57 for 3rd lady - and one of very few women to have run sub 3 hours on this course - and I had a complete shocker to record a personal worst of 2:51. I crocked my lower back at the start, which got steadily worse until my whole back was in spasm by halfway, so I couldn't really run for the last hour.
Lloyd Taggart won the race with a new record time of 2:11 dead.
