Sunrise on Ben Lomond

The pictures tell the story. Having missed the fantastic cloudless Monday stuck in work all day, I was determined to fit something in on the Tuesday. Set the alarm for 5.00, starry sky out the window (advantage of living out of Glasgow) so jumped in the car to Rowardennan. Headed up through the mist which cleared at the forest edge then straight up the race route with the sky lightening to the east. Hit the summit climb just as the sun crept over the horizon, spent 15 minutes at the top admiring it all before enjoying one of the most runable descents in Scotland. All that and in work by 9.00. Anyone interested the next time?

    Lovely Trev - magical times!

Remind me next time we meet up to tell you the story of my Ben Lomond summer sunset and all-nighter back in August 1995...

Now that looks more like it, none of that frenetic racing malarky!

Wow. Except I like to be in at work earlier :)

We could save 14 minutes at the summit...
