Weather - lovely evening.
Superb new race. Very, very steep start straight up. Kept it steady. Short drop into Tillicoultry Glen before starting the major climb. About 2000' of continous climb. Levelled out near the top and I managed to get going again. Was lying 9/10th. Started stretching out on the descent but took it easy so as to get my breath back from climbing hard. Got latched onto a group of 4 runners. Descent was great stuff, soft springy underfoot. Flat out stuff. One more short climb but runable. Final descent was a two mile stretch of very narrow trod path with a slow gradient. Extremely fast with not much hope of passing anyone. John Gallagher had stretched into the lead from our group of 4. I had to charge past Alisdair Antony to try and stay in touch. I managed to close the gap but was just too much to get past him on the very very steep last zoom drop to the finish line. Kevin enjoyed his run too - 65.51. My time - 54.59.
