Horwich Jubilee 5-mile Road Race

18th July 2007

Warm sunny warm evening at Rivington Reservoirs for Horwich Jubilee 5-mile road race. A hilly course. Set off a bit too fast and suffered for the first couple of miles, before stabilising for the second lap.

Ben Fish of Blackburn Harriers won the race in a frighteningly fast course record of 24:41. I was 16th in 28:23, and 1st V40, although I did get beaten by two V50's and a V45.

That's a mega fast winning time for a hilly course. I used to live just a few miles away so know the area well. Well done on your run, it looks like the bugs and injury are behind you and hopefully bodes well for the big races ahead.

It was a fast winning time, and a massive winning margin by almost a minute. Hopefully the road training will pay dividends when I finally get back to some hill running.
