19th June 2007
More than 1000 runners for a Tuesday night 5k on Glasgow Green. The race was won by Chris Mackay of Greenock Glenpark in 14:23, and first lady was Susan Finch of City of Glasgow in 17:32. I finished 20th in 16:50, and Bill Fisher made his long awaited return to racing to finish 82nd in 19:54, and was chuffed to get under 20 minutes.

Yes, certainly chuffed beating the 20 minute mark. Now all I need to do is get under 40 for the 10k and under 1:30 for the HM and I can retire a happy man! Congratulations to Chris for another PB and well done on persuading me to race.

Thanks Jason. I was pleased enough to get 16:50. That bodes well for a potential sub 34 min 10k later in the year, and completes the set of 2007 PBs for 5k, 5-mile, 10k, 10-mile (HM split), Half Marathon and Marathon. I've also managed a PB in every hill race I've done this year apart from Greenmantle Dash on Jan 1st.Well done to you on completing Glen Rosa this time!
