When CapnCat got her groove back!
Westies with more energy and sense can add more detail to this. At last the end of a hard weekend, and a hard three weekends of back to back racing, hard by my standards but normal for Chris of course. I saw Drew, BrianB (modelling a lovely yellow corset!), Nige and Cat, quite a select bunch braving the cold, strong winds and promised rain. Sorry I didn't get anyones times but it was good to see Cat racing hard and getting a pb! My second race of the day and third of the weekend, then food and a bath if I just get through this! I didn't quite know what to expect so just set of as hard as I could, exploded half way up the climb and Cat cantered past telling me to start running. Reverse psychology is obviously a Westies Capn skill! Well I didn't run but died big time on the second half of the climb as the weather deteriorated, and couldn't even see Cat as I started the descent. However sowly found my falling legs and saw my self catching Cat, who clearly can descend now! I finished a bit behind her, and only a minute down on last year (28:25ish), which I am chuffed about. I ate my own body weight in the car as I rushed home to see Lynne who is forgetting what I look like, and Rani who is recovering from her midweek vet scare!

Amazing stuff Jason and a really good time for your 3rd race of the weekend. Cat chose a strange race to try to ease her bad knee back into competition but seemed to come through it OK. Drew seemed to enjoy himself and was spreading bonhomie at the after-race soup/tea extravaganza. Nigel was 5th ...only just overtaken for 4th place in the nasty wee gully right at the end of the race.......and amazingly due to their being a severe absent of aged talent at the race ....I was 25th overall and 1st V50 in a time of 24:23 !!!!! ....just ahead of Davie Duncan of Ochils .......Murdo's time in any of the last 3 Bishop Hill's was faster than this so call me lucky ....and very happy.Great wee race and shame not more Westies ......although only if they're under-50 or female please as this really helps my chances. Hernia op beckons on Thursday so won't see you guys at any races for quite a while.

Well done Jason for your racing exploits, you'll be out-doing Captain Chris at this rate. I would, of course, have joined you if only I could have roused myself from my post-cycle tea shop chill-out in nearby Auchterarder, honest! And well done all the other Westies.
