Lasswade 10 2007
I was the only Westie here but it was a big crowd and a hard race. I was pushing a little more than yesterday, though not fresh of course. The route is hilly to 6 miles (mostly up with a couple of big descents) and then gently down for the last 4. Unfortunately the up took it out of me a bit and I lost some concentration around 5-8 miles. Also very annoyed with a flapping number when one corner ripped, I slowed once to repin it but it tore again. Bother! The long descent from 6 miles wasn't as good as I hoped as a strong headwind had built up by then. I was hoping for under 72min on a hard course and was a little disappointed to get 72:35 by my reckoning. Still musn't grumble. Legs feeling a little heavey now with two races in them, but how about a blitz up the motorway to Bishy?

OOH I just looked at my splits and I was the same time at 5 miles as I did at the KB5 last week, so suddenly I am quite happy! Fickle eh?
