Eildon 2 Hills Race
Shorts vest and Walsh boots. Warm and sunny. Start off in Greenyards Rugby pitch, up through Melrose Main Street. I started off fast but could have done better. I got myself boxed in for a while. The initial climb is single file although passing is possible with a bit of determination. Tired by top of first hill and the short down hill was welcome. The second climb was not as tough as the first. I think I could have done better. Tom Ross had a good lead over me at the top of the first hill but I dragged it back to almost touching distance by the top of the second hill. Tom put in a good descent and lost me easily. I didn't lose anymore places from my descent and just managed to gain one while returning through Melrose Main Street. Finished with a very tired lap of the rugby pitch. Could have kicked into a sprint but there was no one close to me worth bothering about. Tea, biscuits and food at prizeigiving.
